The Grouse Grind

Challenge yourself with Vancouver's most famous hike, the Grouse GrindTM - often referred to as Mother Nature's Stairmaster. This rigorous 2.9 km (1.8 mile) hike takes you straight up the face of Grouse Mountain. By the time you reach the plateau, your ascent will have gained 853 metres (2,800 feet) - one and a half times the height of Toronto's CN Tower! Once you make it to the top, take a minute to enjoy the adrenaline rush, spectacular views and all that you have accomplished.

Snowshoeing is your winter Grind alternative...

Just because Grind season is over doesn't mean your hiking options are finished. Grouse Mountain is home to Vancouver's original snowshoe terrain and ranks among the province's most scenic. Over 10km of trails meander through the alpine forests, from gentle terrain like Blue Grouse Loop to full-on cardio climbs like the Dam Mountain circuit.

Snowshoe rentals are available for all ages & abilities. Additionally, Grouse Mountain hosts a very popular weekly drop-in clinic for those who are looking to benefit from an experienced guide. Check back soon for a schedule of clinics for the 2007/08 winter season.

See you in the snow.
